Global warming happens to be a burning issue across several regions and sections of society such as politicians, scientists, health consultants and economic analysts as well. Global warming is making the world heat up less with its impact, but more with the disagreements among conscious citizens. No one wants to know about the causes, consequences and control measures of global warming, but everyone is interested in knowing what a famous personality will say about it.
The Petition Against Human-Caused Global Warming:
Leading from the front, making the issue more hot, 31,072 American scientists have signed a petition rejecting the assertion that global warming has reached a crisis stage and is mainly caused by human activity.
Expert Says:
“No such consensus or settled science exists,” condemned Arthur Robinson, founder and president of the Oregon Institute of Science and Medicine in the July’08 issue of “Environment & Climate News.”
The List of 17K:
In 2001, The Institute, a nonprofit organization, published the names and credentials of 17,000 scientists, who condemned and opposed the concept of human-based global warming.
The List of 31K:
The petition text and signatory list made it clear that a large number of American scientists rejected the hypothesis of human-caused global warming. Now, the current list of 31,072 American scientists including about 9,000 Ph.Ds is published by Heartland Institute, a nonprofit environmental organization. Heartland Institute has challenged the global warming theories in an article published, in which the list of scientists is incorporated.
The reputation or credentiality of the signers is very genuine and high. Among the signers, more than 40 scientists are from National Academy of Sciences. Physicists Freeman Dyson and Richard Lindzen of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology are among the prestigious scientists who have signed the petition against human-caused global warming. The first president of the National Academy of Sciences, Frederick Seitz, signed before his death in early March.
