Canada is the best country to survive from climate change according to a recent survey. But, its neighboring nation, U.S, is facing a security threat from global warming. A new national survey taken by a reputed research firm indicates that a major percentage of Americans, feel that they will face worst situations if government would not take any action. The survey was taken during the period of June 25-27 and surveyed 2,175 U.S. adults. It was done for a non-profit initiative, ‘Presidential Climate Action Project’. These survey details are published in an online medium.
The Survey Results:
- 41 percent of all American citizens and 44 percent of committed American voters are thinking that America’s national security will face a threat from climate change
- 62 percent of those surveyed, recommended that the next president should take an initiative against climate change to save the country
- 45 percent of West Coast, 44 percent of Northeast citizens feel that global will be a threat for U.S. security
The survey also had a look on American citizens’ view of presidential cnadidates on global warming.
Results of the Americans’ Impression of Presidential Candidates on Global Warming:
- 35 percent believe that Barack Obama sets a better policy on climate change
- Despite John McCain’s nickname of “Captain Climate” in the Senate, he was voted by 17 percent people only
- Support for a presidential action against global warming was strongest on the West Coast i.e., 70 percent
- Nearly half of those interviewed were uncertain about the candidate’s future stance against global warming
