Do you want to move to a nation where you can survive from climate change? If you, without thinking much, fly to Canada. Yes, it is a fact. Based on the the best-to-worst rankings in first-ever climate change vulnerability index, Canada is the most sophisticated place to move to if you want a pleasant life in the years ahead.
The Climate Change Risk Report:
This climate change vulnerability index is produced by Maplecroft, a British consultancy firm that specializes in the mapping of risk. Its study, The Climate Change Risk Report, focuses in great dimensions at global warming (climate change) risk in 168 countries.
Canada Is The Best:
The ‘Climate Change Risk Report’ states that Canada is the best place to live in for those who don’t want to be a victim of climate change. Due to its better care in taking hold on warmer atmosphere, Britain is also in a status to provide good environment to its citizens.
Vulnerable Africa:
Africa is the most vulnerable region with eight amongst 10 most vulnerable nations. The report announces that the Comoros Islands is the most vulnerable country followed by Somalia and Burundi in second and third places. Only five nonAfrican countries are in the 20 most vulnerable nations list and they are Yemen, Afghanistan, Haiti, Pakistan and Nepal.
And The Best Are:
As expected, developed countries rank best. Canada is on top of the list, followed by Ireland, Norway, Denmark and Sweden. The United Kingdom bags 12th position, just behind United States of America. Uruguay is a surpising inclusion in top 10 best nations in the perspective of climate change, which is in 9th position.
This new study shows its originality, not predicting global warming’s effects from increased droughts to rising sea levels. It examined the vulnerability by an in-depth study of six different sectors such as economy, natural resources, poverty and health, agriculture, population, and infrastructure of the country.
