China’s top meteorological official blames Global Warming for extreme weather in China this year, urging concerned departments to initiate and improve emergency responses to reduce losses from rainstorms, floods and droughts which have occurred this year.
Fierce rainstorms swept China this summer, triggering floods, landslides and mud-rock flows. Almost half a million people have been evacuated from the projected path of floodwaters from the Huaihe River.
One of the reasons for the weather extremes this year has been unusual atmospheric circulation bought about by global warming. Greenhouse gases are said to bring about this climatic change which is causing so much destruction.
Until and unless government officials of all the countries decide to cut down their Green house emissions. Nothing much can be done. In order to prevent further losses, authorities should take serious measures to reduce emission of green house gases.
