Global Warming makes Hurricane’s worse

The after effects of a hurricane are worse. It brings about large scale destruction. Global warming according to scientists will lead to an increase in the frequency of hurricanes.

The increase in power of the hurricanes has caused it to become more destructive Taking into account an increasing coastal population–a substantial increase in hurricane-related losses in the 21st century is predicted.

Ocean heat is an important key ingredient for hurricane formation. Global warming has lead to an increase in sea temperature in the last 30-50 years. More heat could “generate more storms and more intense hurricanes,” says hurricane historian Jay Barnes of Pine Knoll Shores, North Carolina.

Author Kerry Emanuel, a professor of atmospheric science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge has observed a 50% increase in the duration and strength of hurricanes.

Scientists find this phenomenon to be both surprising and “alarming'’ because they suggest global warming is influencing storms now — rather than in the distant future.
